Franz Högemann developed his own press control system and with it, lay the foundations for the sophisticated automation technology with which we set the pace today. fhalcon®, our fully integrated process control system for complex production systems in the food and feed industry, is an incredibly efficient and flexible software solution that is in demand worldwide.
With our team, which has now grown to 100 employees, we are able to offer all services related to automation. From planning, project management and advising about electrical planning, to control cabinet construction, electrical assembly and installation, PLC and visual programming, through to IT systems, network technology or 24/7 support and services – our customers can get all services from a single, competent provider.

History
High-tech solutions from Garrel: For over 30 years, the name Högemann has been synonymous with innovative automation solutions for the food and feed industry.
1990
The company is founded by Franz Högemann. Manufacturing of PLC controllers and regulators for concentrated feed factories, as well as control cabinet construction.
1991
Programming on an MS-DOS-based standard production management level for the feed and food industry.
1992
Transfer of production to a rented manufacturing hall.
1993
Construction of and move to the first part of the company’s current building with an office wing and manufacturing hall.
1994
Introduction of fibre-splicing technology for the fibre optic networks in our company.
1995
Migration of the Högemann software from MS-DOS to Microsoft Windows.
1996
Use of the latest generation of Siemens PLCs, S7-400, in connection with the Högemann Windows-based control system. Shared TCP/IP network for PLCs, the master computer and the ERP system.
1999
Expansion of our systems to guarantee a gap-free traceability of production processes.
2000
Construction of a second production building with a surface area of 1000 m2.
2004
Entry into web-based process visualisation systems.
2005
ISO 9001 certification. Acquisition of DATA-SORT and development of a new optimisation software for the agricultural, concentrate feed, mineral feed and food industries. Integration of NIR online measuring technology into the production sectors for the food and concentrate feed industries and for renewable energies. Calibration and servicing of NIR online technology.
2006
Start of recipe optimisation for Windows.
2009
Introduction of a scanner-supported warehouse management system.
2010
Högemann becomes part of the Big Dutchman group.
2011
Development of a new software tool for machine diagnosis.
2012
First mobile telematic solution for Windows Mobile.
2013
Introduction of a software tool for energy management.
2014
Development of a software for geographical trip planning and a telematic app for navigation to the silo.
2019
Commissioning of our largest ever construction project in North Africa (Egypt).
2020
Introduction of the fully integrated and modular process control system, fhalcon® Software Suite. Coronavirus bonus given to all employees.
2021
Implementation of the first complete plant installation in the TIA Portal. Start of the NIR revolution with the first customers testing our new Anamenter.
